One of the more difficult subjects is behaviour disturbances in dementia. Being diagnosed with dementia can cause various changes in behaviour. Although we understand these behaviours are related to the illness it can still be distressing and challenging for carers. The ability for individual to continue to live at home for as long as possible can be impacted by these changes.
If you become aware of any changes in behaviour it’s important to seek assistance from your GP or health professional. Many of these changes can be treated which can delay requiring the need for an aged care move.
